Last October we purchased our first home! We have always loved home shopping, going through model homes, and going to the Parade of homes. Finally it was our turn to build our own. We have had a blast decorating and adding to our home. When deciding what style we wanted to do our home, Mike and I came across a conflict. I wanted shabby chic, cottage and he wanted simple and modern. We finally came to a compromise and decided to put our styles together which is is where we got shabby chic modern! We shop at Ikea and Crate and Barrel to get our simple modern furniture for Mikes taste, then we shop at west elm and Pottery barn for our throw pillows and nik naks to add a shabby chic finish for my taste. We also wanted to add a beach feel to our house as well since we cant live at the beach I thought we could bring the beach to us. By doing that we went for light grey distressed wood floors, Light tan and blue paint colors, a white kitchen and light colors for furniture. Enjoy this exclusive tour of our lovely home!

We went to visit Mike's sister to see their new home in gorgeous Colorado. We were first timers and we absolutely loved it. Here are some fun pictures from the trip, and of course most of them are of my cute niece and nephew, and Mike too haha.
